Mass. College Lax: Wednesday Afternoon Roundup

There were a variety of contests this afternoon and below are the scores and outcomes.

Men’s Lacrosse

Lasell 6, Mount Ida 4: The Lasers picke dup its third consecutive win by defeating the Mustangs by two tallies in Newton. Andrew Suh and Pat Egan each netted two goals for Lasell, while David Whalen recorded 11 stops. J.T. Hoyt paced Mount Ida with two tallies.

UMass Boston 14, Nichols 5: The Beacons bumped its mark to 5-4 overall thanks hat tricks by Noah EllisJohn Powers and Tommy Petitti. Nichols’ Peter Zygadlo finished with 10 stops, he faced 24 shots.

Union 8, Williams 7 (OT): Tom Stanton forced an extra session for the Dutchmen, who then secured the neutral site victory with a tally from Jake Quinn. Williams’ Andy GrabowskiTanner MacIvor and Jack Lauroesch each recorded two goals in the setback.

Women’s Lacrosse:

Boston College 13, Harvard 9: Sarah Mannelly jumpstarted an 8-0 run in the first half, which provided the Eagles with the lead for good as BC topped Harvard in Cambridge. Mannelly registered four goals in the win, while Brooke Blue and Mikaela Rix each netted hat tricks. Marisa Romeo paced the Crimson with four goals.  

Amherst 14, Wheaton 5: Elizabeth Ludlow and Krista Zsitvay each recorded hat tricks, while Christy Forrest stopped three shots as the Jeffs picked up its sixth win of the season. Brooke Sabol paced the Lyons with two goals, while Allie Bush recorded her 50th career helper.

Smith 11, New England College 10: The Pioneers snapped a seven-game skid and received five goals and one assist from Jessica Lillquist.
